The VIP JEOUN Transport Service management has increased tariffs on the Accra-Kumasi route by 20%, just two weeks after another 20% increase.
On Monday morning, a ticket from Kumasi to Accra was selling for GH¢120, up from GH¢100 in the previous two weeks and GH¢80 three weeks earlier.
The VIP JEOUN Transport Service, a consortium of private individual bus operators operating under the brand name VIP Jeoun, raised fares by 20% two weeks ago, on Monday, October 24, 2022, citing rising fuel and spare parts costs.
The Ghana Private Road Transport Union followed suit, raising fares by 19%.

On Monday, November 7, 2022, some passengers from Kumasi to Accra arrived at the Neoplan station [VIP station] in Asafo only to be informed that the cost from Kumasi to Accra has increased to GH¢120 as of this morning.
