Former President John Dramani Mahama and his wife Lordina received the coronavirus vaccine on Tuesday, March 2.
They were vaccinated at the Accra Police Hospital.
After getting vaccinated, Mr Mahama told TV3’s Komla Kluste that the only way for the country to fight the virus is for everyone to get vaccinated.
“I believe that all Ghanaians should take advantage of the vaccines, and that we in Africa should be less cautious about taking vaccines because we all got vaccines as infants, and it is because of these vaccines that our children today are free of diseases such as polio and smallpox.
“Vaccines are beneficial to our wellbeing, and Ghanaians should ignore all of these rumors,” he said.
“I decided to take the vaccine in public so that everybody could be certain that the vaccines are safe,” he continued.
