Actor Van Vicker of Ghana has addressed speculations that he turned down a part in Lil Win’s movie A Country Called Ghana.
In an interview with Kumasi-based Hello FM, Vicker disclosed that he turned down the job because of a scheduling conflict with the producers.
The actor clarified that although Fii Frank Garbin had sought him to play the part that was ultimately taken by Ramsey, the producers had asked him to be present for a month, which he thought was excessive.
Van Vicker, an actor juggling his studies, suggested a ten-day shoot plan, but the producers finally turned it down.
It’s interesting to note that he learned that Ramsey, the Nigerian actor who took up the role, finished filming in the ten days he had recommended.
He made it clear that his choice was not a rejection of the film but rather the result of a disagreement about the payment and arrangements for his participation.

“As a matter of fact, Fii Frank Garbin called me and said he wants me to play the role Ramsey played in that movie. So I wanted to know when are we shooting because I was in school. He got back and said the producer says they need me for one month.
I said one month is too much What are we filming? You should know that with actors, the more days you require, the more fees I will charge so the earlier you finish the better. So you need me for one month; are you sure you can pay me for one full month? So I told him for one month I can’t do the work because I’m in school.
I told him what I could do was ten days, and if he could do ten days then I would do the work. Later he said the ten days won’t work. Can you believe that later I saw that Ramsey came to do the work. I was tracking the job and can you believe Ramsey used ten days to do the job?
