The University Students Association of Ghana, USAG is calling on the University Teachers Association of Ghana UTAG and government to resolve the impasse between them.
In a statement signed by the president of the association, Dr. Christian Armah, USAG is entreating both parties to ‘place students at the center of the conversation and compromise to reach a point of satisfaction for an amicable resolution of the impasse.’
USAG says the unresolved concerns of UTAG since July 2021 is burdening students with thoughts of their academic fate.
To them, the already distorted academic calendar due to the Coronavirus pandemic coupled with the long-standing strike and the unresolved issues has far outstretched the calendar.
USAG is therefore reminding government and UTAG that university education is key to national development and as such, it is important for an amicable resolution to be reached to ensure the academic activities resume to the benefit of the students and the nation at large.
