At the Dormaa Ahenkuro cemetery in the Bono Area, about ten tombs have been stolen by unidentified individuals.
Thomas Nsia Yaw, an assemblyman representing the Broniasua electoral district, claims that about two weeks ago, residents first detected a stench coming from the neighborhood.
Subsequent investigation revealed that it came from the cemetery, which had been shut down due to ongoing entombment for some time.
He told Adom News that when he visited the cemetery, he noticed that between 10 and 15 tombs had been uncovered by unidentified individuals.

A similar incident occurred in the same cemetery about two years ago, the Assembly member explains, and it required the intervention of Nananom, the Assembly, and other stakeholders to put a stop to it.
It is, however, unclear the rationale behind its resurgence.
However the reasons for its reappearance remain obscure.
Yet he suspects the scrap dealers because they like to take iron rods out of tombs and buildings to sell.
The assemblyman stated that his group would see to it that the offenders were apprehended.
Mr. Nsiah also lamented how challenging it has been to hire security guards for the facility following the security guard’s passing.
He says the assembly is in talks with some people to ensure they get someone to guard the cemetery to prevent these nation wreckers from causing harm to people’s tombs which keeps affecting the health of the living.
