Students having a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of less than 1.00 in the Colleges of Basic and Applied Sciences, Education, and Humanities in the University of Ghana (UG) will be dismissed beginning with the 2023/2024 academic year.
This is in compliance with Section 9.26 of the institution Regulations for Junior Members (2017), which specifies that undergraduate students who do not obtain the minimum CGPA required for advancement to the next level of study should be withdrawn from the institution.

Current level 200 and level 300 students who have received exam results for all 2022/2023 registered courses and have a CGPA below the minimum allowed for their college should anticipate official withdrawal letters from the university soon via their official UG email addresses, according to a notice from the UG’s Academic Affairs Directorate.
Those who have already paid their tuition for the school year 2023-2024 will get a refund.
The notification further stated that the UG acknowledges the significance of this declaration and urges any student who needs clarification or support to get in touch with the relevant college academic affairs office.
A special announcement for the College of Health Sciences will be made as soon as possible.
Many students, particularly those who are suffering academically, were taken aback by this statement.
