The newly promoted team for the Ghana Division One League, UCC Youngsters, beat the newly Division One relegated side Cape Coast Red Bull 3-2 in a coronation game at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday 23rd July 2024.
The much-anticipated coronation game was rumored to feature either UCC Youngsters and Asante Kotoko or the newly crowned Ghana Premier League champions, Samartex 96.

According to Dr. Ayia Bediako, a management member of UCC Youngsters, the planned fixture did not take place because both Kotoko and Samartex had just concluded their Premier League campaigns and are now focused on organizing their pre-season activities. As a result, it was challenging to find an early and suitable date to play against either team.
UCC Youngsters trailed by one goal in the first half but made a remarkable comeback in the second half to secure a 3-2 victory. The team is now focusing on a strong preseason to prepare effectively for the Division One League.
