The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong has extended his warmest greetings and best wishes to the university community and Ghanaians as Christmas approaches.
The Vice-chancellor in his Christmas and end-of-year address acknowledged and expressed gratitude to stakeholders for their contributions towards the significant achievements of the university in the course of the year.
According to him, although the university has chalked major successes and achievements, management acknowledges that there are still challenges with the university’s infrastructural development.
He indicated that “there is still a lot more to be done in terms of improving our road network on campus and ensuring that we have enough office space for staff. We are also mindful of the need to continue to improve security on our campus.”
He however assured the entire university that, efforts are being made at addressing all these challenges adding that “hopefully in the New Year, we shall see tremendous progress in all these areas”.
Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong also seized the opportunity to urge residents to get vaccinated and continue adhering to the COVID 19 protocols even as they take part in the festive activities.
The Metropolitan Chief Executive, Ernest Arthur has also urged residents of the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly to be cautious during this festive season.
He said as the festive season approaches, residents might be unaware of the countless hidden dangers that will linger around their vicinities during the yuletide but residents should be vigilant and cautious to know in advance these dangers and avoid them.
While delivering his Christmas message, Mr. Ernest Arthur gave his best wishes to the people of Cape Coast and encouraged individuals to face challenges positively and with the right attitudes.
“So that at the end of the day we will all have the strength and energy to put resources together to develop our land and our city Cape Coast,” he said.
He expressed hope that people return from the holidays unharmed.
