The University of Cape Coast has officially unveiled a logo for its 60th Anniversary Celebration which is scheduled to take place in October 2022.
The Unveiling and launch of the anniversary logo is the 3rd major milestone programme held to commemorate the year-long programs put in place to make the 60th anniversary celebration a success.
This follows the swearing-in of the 6-anniversary sub-committees which will plan the activities of the anniversary, the planning committee and will be followed by the official launch of the Anniversary.
The logo which was thrown as a challenge for both present students and alumni on August 30this year to showcase their designing and innovative skills received 122 samples of designs which went through several stages to arrive at the final logo design which will be used as the official logo for the celebration.
While unveiling the logo, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong, expressed optimism in the anniversary planning committee and assured the university community to organize activities that will be liked by all.
“I am confident that the committee is in no doubt capable of executing its mandate successfully. The committee can count on the support and cooperation of management in delivering an anniversary celebration that all of us will be proud of.” He said
Mr. Geoffrey Nanah, the winner of the logo challenge at the launch revealed that he designed the logo in line with the theme for the celebration which reads “60 years of quality higher education: expanding the frontiers”.
He stated emphatically that the logo for the celebration seeks to highlight the achievement of the university since its inception in 1962 of providing quality education.
He explained that on the logo all the graphical symbols that represent the achievements are placed at one side of the zero with the other side being blank signifying there is more room for greater height and exploit.
