The University of Cape Coast says on Thursday, September 5, 2024, it will confer an Honorary Doctorate Degree (Honoris Causa) on the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The conferment is in recognition of his commitment to Ghana’s unity and development, particularly in promoting unity among political parties and settling chieftaincy and land disputes.
The university also acknowledged the Asantehene’s contribution to humanity regarding health, sanitation, education, and entrepreneurship, among others.
In a statement issued and signed by the Director, Directorate of Public Affairs, Major Kofi Baah-Bentum (Rtd), the University noted the award ceremony will be held at the New Examination Centre (NEC), UCC at 11:00 am.
