Deputy Director of health services at the University of Cape Coast Hospital, Dr. James Prah says measures have been put in place to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus pandemic on the university campus.
His comment comes following the reopening of school for students at the University of Cape Coast.
Speaking on the Atlantic Wave yesterday, he said the university is ready for contact tracing and testing which among other things will help fight the spread of the virus on campus.
“We have prepared ourselves well in the case of any outbreak. we have enough to test when it happens that we have to do that. We prepare ourselves to continue for follow-up and contact tracing.”
Dr. Prah further hinted that this has become necessary due to the continuous lingering of the virus in the country and especially with the Delta variant recorded among some Senior high schools in the country.
He further urged students to be vigilant on campus and also follow the safety protocols outlined by the Ghana Health Service to ensure their safety during their stay on campus.
“We want the students to follow the COVID-19 protocols and if they could stay safe it will be of benefit to them because they will be healthy enough to go through the semester without admissions,” he noted.
