The University of Cape Coast has held a virtual send-off ceremony for its 2020/2021 National Service Personnel with a call on service persons to demonstrate high sense of responsibility in all facets of their lives.
The end of service ceremony is held each year by the University to portray gratitude and appreciation for the exceptional service, personnel have rendered within their service period.
Delivering the speech on behalf of the University Management, the Provost of the College of Distance Education (CODE), Prof. Isaac Galyuon commended the National Service Personnel for the diligence and sense of responsibility they have portrayed throughout their period of service to the nation.
‘Indeed you have worked hard and we very much appreciate your loyalty and willingness to accept assignments that were even beyond your normal duties. For these we say Ayekoo.”
He further urged the service persons to explore new opportunities and cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset to help them thrive in the wake of the employment deficit in the country.
He advised them not to bank their hopes on only government employment but rather through their skills, find ways to liaise with other colleagues to set up their own businesses irrespective of how small it can be.
