The Design Thinking and Innovation Hub (D-Hub) at the University of Cape Coast has launched the D-Hub Learn, an initiative designed to support innovative learning and business development among students, faculty and staff.
The initiative was launched at a ceremony held on Tuesday, 29th July 2025 attended by key management officials of the University, staff of the Centre, students, entrepreneurs and other key stakeholders.
The D-Hub Learn is an offline resource portal that hosts modules on entrepreneurship, business development and career development. The initiative is to complement the Centre’s efforts at supporting entrepreneurs with step-by-step guides to help them develop their business ideas and small enterprises.
Lauding the initiative, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Professor Johnson Nyarko Boampong intimated that the D-Hub Learn was a testament of the University’s commitment to ensuring the holistic development of its students.
He noted that tthrough platforms like D-Hub Learn, the University is positioning itself as “a future-ready institution that meets evolving needs of the 21st century learner. Today’s launch further cements our commitment to digital inclusion, entrepreneurship and holistic development of our students.”
Professor Boampong expressed optimism that the platform would help build a solid foundation for raising entrepreneurially-minded graduates.

According to him, the introduction of this offline resource database will help scale these efforts even further, expanding both the depth and reach of impact in a university community of over 75,000 students.
He added saying “sustainability and scalability are key, and today’s launch is not just the unveiling of a new tool, but laying a foundation for long-term growth and transformation. I hope it will benefit the students, so that before leaving this university, they would have had the entrepreneurial mindset and they would not go out and be seeking jobs elsewhere, but would create jobs for themselves and the future generation.”
Speaking exclusively to ATL FM News, Director of the Design Thinking and Innovation Hub, Dr. Keren Naa Abeka Arthur described D-Hub Learn as a means of training people in entrepreneurship.
She emphasized that the idea was to create a resource that supports a hybrid system where they can get access to modules, step-by-step guides, any other resource that can develop them in the entrepreneurship space and in their career development.
“And because they come in to use it, we are there to also provide the human contribution so that they get the best of both worlds,” she continued.
Dr. Keren Arthur highlighted that D-hub Learn is available for use by students, staff and faculty of the University, and the general public.
The offline platform hosts interactive materials on entrepreneurship and career development such as; guides on the acquisition of soft skills, preparation for interviews and CV templates.
Aside the specialized materials, it hosts general knowledge and inspirational materials.

The D-Hub Learn is the result of a collaboration between D-Hub and a non-governmental organization with the mission of providing digital knowledge to persons and Community Development Network (CDN).
On her part, the Africa Director for Community Development Network, Miss Gifty Anaab, encouraged all and sundry to take advantage of the platform.
She said “we want more students to troop into the D-Hub Centre and use the D-Hub Learn. We want them to also give their feedback to the DHAP administrators and point persons. If there are other things that they want on it but are not yet on it, they could tell us and then we would work on it to provide it for them. We are here to serve them.”
Currently, the D-Hub Learn is only available by logging on to a server hosted at the Design Thinking and Innovation Hub premises at the University of Cape Coast Central Administration block. It is expected that it would be available on a wider scale soon.
