The University of Cape Coasts’ College of Distance Education (CoDE) Welfare Association has inducted into office newly elected officers to steer the affairs of the association.
At the ceremony to induct the officers and also commission a newly established cafeteria, the outgoing welfare chairman of the association, Dr. Felix Kumedzro said aside the newly established cafeteria, his regime instituted programs and initiatives including health screening to the benefit of the association members.
The newly established cafeteria which is located at the ground floor of the CoDE building is meant to serve staff and students of the University.
Dr. Kumedzro expressed satisfaction for the program and tasked the newly inducted executives to serve the association diligently.
He said “leadership is about continuity; we cannot do it all and this is what we have been able to do for the welfare and we give opportunity for others to also exhibit their leadership quality.”

On his part, the newly elected welfare chairman of the association, Mr. Solomon Kwesi Effum pledged his commitment to enroll programs and initiatives that will help better the lives of the members.
He said already his administration taking steps to roll out an insurance policy to ease the plight of members of the association.
He noted that in the two years of their administration, prudent measures and policies will be implemented to the benefit of its members.
