The University of Cape Coast (UCC) on Monday, January 5, 2026, officially admitted fresh students for the 2025/2026 academic year to pursue various academic programmes at its main campus and affiliate colleges.
The admission exercise began as early as 6 a.m. with hundreds of new students arriving with their parents and guardians to complete registration and hall allocation procedures.
The process is being coordinated by hall executives, members of the cadet corps, and university staff, ensuring smooth admission and strict adherence to safety protocols.

Unlike previous years, this year’s exercise has recorded minimal congestion, mainly due to the online room selection system, which allowed students to secure their accommodation before reporting to campus.
Principal Hall Assistant at SRC Hall, Mr. Uriel Ewusie, assured that designated areas have been created for bag checks and seating. He noted that to maintain order, parents are not allowed into the halls, with only designated staff permitted to assist with luggage.
The SRC President, Kwame Ntiamoah Ntim stated that measures have been put in place to ensure the safe arrival of all students. He emphasized that the SRC is fully prepared to provide support to the students as they settle into campus life.
Some of the students and parents spoke to ATL FMNEWS, expressed satisfaction with the efficiency of the process.
“The process has been swift,” one student shared. “Every service we needed was readily available. At the entrance, executives welcomed us, ushered us to our rooms and ensured we settled down smoothly.”
Another student noted that motivated by the University’s reputation, added “UCC is the number one university in Ghana and I love the environment. I cannot wait for the experience.”
“My goal to learn hard and earn a first-class degree in Mathematics here at UCC,” said another.
