University of Cape Coast has agreed to foot the full medical bills for the treatment of a level 300 physician assistant student diagnosed with a recurrent right chest wall soft tissue sarcoma.

This was announced by the Provost of the School of Health and Allied Sciences, Professor Martins Ekor during a brief donation ceremony organized by the Department of Physician Assistant studies to help the family cater for the medical bills.

The donation was in addition to an amount of GHS7,325 made by the Department of Physician assistant studies to the student, Isaac Armah.

The Provost of the College, Professor Martins Ekor addressing the family and faculty during the donation encouraged Isaac to keep fighting while the University supports the family.

He added, “this is a sign to let the family know that we are all together in this and we will continue to support the family in prayers. As a university, we will support and it is our prayer that very soon, you will be back with us to continue your studies. So, on behalf of the University, School of Health and Allied Sciences, and the department, we make this presentation”.

Isaac Armah is currently on chemotherapy treatment which requires an amount of GHS 11,340 per session and requires over GHS 90,000 to complete surgery and treatment.

The Executive Committee of the Student’s Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) led by Mr. Samuel Kwabena Adotei earlier in February 2022 paid a visit to him at his residence and made a donation of GHS10,000 to support his surgery.
