According to reports, two people were lynched at Zakpalsi, a farming community in the Mion District of the Northern Region, over suspicion of witchcraft.
According to a Citi News source, one of the lynched persons gave a contaminated snuff to a resident who subsequently complained of stomach aches shortly after taking the snuff.
She eventually passed away from stomach pains, and her family sought the advice of a soothsayer who attributed her demise to the snuff she had been given.

The report of the soothsayer angered the youth of the Zakpalsi town which led them to mobilise and attack the alleged witch, Imoro Safura, and her husband.
The furious youth attacked and killed the husband in the couple’s home, but the woman was able to flee and seek safety in the chief palace.
However, the youth surrounded the chief’s palace, captured her, and had her murdered.
