A tragic air incident has claimed two lives after a helicopter crashed at a school park in Tema Community One on Monday, March 16.
The helicopter reportedly went down at the Oninku Drive School Park, sending shockwaves through the community as residents and students witnessed the horrifying scene.
Emergency response teams, with support from officers of the Ghana Police Service, were quickly dispatched to the crash site to manage the situation and secure the area.
The two individuals believed to have been on board the aircraft were confirmed dead after the crash. Their bodies were later retrieved from the wreckage, which had been severely burnt following the impact.
Eyewitnesses described moments of panic as the helicopter descended rapidly before crashing into the park, an area frequently used by students.


Despite the severity of the incident, no students or bystanders on the ground were injured.
Assemblyman for the Kwesi Plange Electoral Area, Ahmed Abdullia, confirmed that students in the vicinity were safe at the time of the crash.
Authorities have since cordoned off the area as investigations begin to determine the cause of the crash.
Officials are expected to provide further details on the identities of the victims and circumstances surrounding the incident as inquiries continue.
