Kwaku Asare, 24, and his 28-year-old friend, Kwame Asante, are being held by police in Oda, Eastern Region, for conspiracy and attempted human trafficking.
The 16-year-old victim is Kwaku Asare’s nephew.
Kofi Appiah, the Unit Committee Chairman for Akyem Etwereso, reported the two suspects’ plot to the police.
According to him, he pretended to be an agent in order to purchase the victim for GH800,000.
Suspect Kweku Asare enticed the victim to Oda by promising him a good job.
The accused were waiting for the agent at the Oda Lorry Station when they were apprehended by police.
Following a lengthy questioning, the suspect acknowledged conspiring to sell the victim.
They are being held in police custody for additional investigation and prosecution.
