Two persons were killed after a misunderstanding over the purchase of marijuana, commonly known locally as “wee.”
The event occurred at 7 p.m. on Sunday in Kotwi, Atwima Kwanwoma district, Ashanti region.
Locals have recognized one of the dead as Nana Bonsu, 30 years old. The suspect who was also murdered by a mob remains unidentified.
An eyewitness told Akoma News’ Kwabena Nyamekye that the suspect “drew a knife and stabbed Nana Bonsu many times after he [the suspect] failed to pay for the “wee.”
Three more persons are said to have been injured as well.
The deceased bodies were afterward taken by police and put in the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital mortuary.
The police have yet to issue an official comment about the event.
