U.S. President Donald Trump will issue another 90-day extension regarding the fate of TikTok, the White House announced on Tuesday. The current extension, signed in April, is set to expire on Thursday, June 19.
“President Trump will sign an additional Executive Order this week to keep TikTok operational,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated in a message to CBS News.
“As he has said many times, President Trump does not want TikTok to go dark. This extension will allow the Administration to work towards finalizing a deal, ensuring that American users can continue to access TikTok with confidence in their data security,” she added.

In January, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld legislation to ban TikTok, leading app stores and service providers to withdraw support for the app in the U.S. Shortly after taking office, Trump signed an executive order to delay the ban while exploring a deal with ByteDance to divest its U.S. operations. On April 4, he issued a 75-day extension to keep the short video app functional.
