Standout Performances for Treaty United
McGuane’s impact on the field has been undeniable. In just three games during May, she scored two goals from the penalty spot, one of which proved to be the decisive winner against Galway United. That vital victory pushed Treaty United back into the thick of the play-off race, giving their season fresh momentum. Her composure and precision under pressure have been a huge asset to the Limerick-based club in her first senior season.
A Star on the Rise
The 16-year-old midfielder has quickly become one of the standout talents in the league, thanks to her strong technical skills and maturity beyond her years. Treaty United manager Sean Russell had high praise for McGuane, emphasizing her ability to adapt to senior football. “Madison has been excellent since the start of the season. She’s shown that she is more than capable of making the step up to senior level,” he said. “For such a young player, she plays with great maturity. Her attitude matches her ability and I have no doubt she will continue to develop and get better.”
Success Beyond Club Football
May has been a truly remarkable month for McGuane. In addition to her club success, she captained the Republic of Ireland U16s at the UEFA Development Tournament in Finland. Her efforts on the international stage didn’t go unnoticed, as she was also named the Women’s U17 Player of the Year at the FAI International Awards. McGuane now joins the likes of Emma Doherty of Galway United and Kelly Brady of Athlone Town as one of this season’s standout players recognized by the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division.
