Digital Technology during the formative years of the Ghanaian child will yield the needed long-term impacts and competencies to transform the nation and beyond.
This is the assertion by a retired Country Managing Partner for Deloitte Ghana, Mr. Charles Larbi-Odam who says the early introduction of digital technology is necessary as children have cerebral capacity with no limits in those formative years.
To him, it should be a guiding principle to ensure the adoption of digital technology education is future-oriented and sustainable.
“We must move beyond short-term fixes and embrace a holistic approach that equips students with the skill and knowledge needed to navigate our ever-evolving digital landscape,” he continued.
Mr. Larbi-Odam added that educators must also be empowered with the needed tools and comprehensive technical training, programs and support networks to prepare educators to nurture the minds of students and unleash their inherent brilliance.
He maintained that the rapid advancement of digital technology has opened new horizons, offering us unparalleled opportunities to redefine the quality of education in Ghana.
Mr. Charles Larbie-Odam made this call at the 147th Anniversary Speech and Prize-Giving Day celebration of the Mfantsipim School held on the theme: The Role of Digital Technology in Redefining Quality and Sustainable Education in Ghana.
He revealed that the fourth Industrial Revolution, characterized by rapid technological advancement and interconnectivity, beckons individuals to adapt, innovate and prepare students for the challenges and opportunities.
Mr. Larbi-Odam also called for strategic partnerships and collaboration between educational institutions, government bodies, and industry leaders to essentially harness the full potential of digital technology.
He believed that as Ghana redefines its education, it must prioritize quality and global relevance.
To him, leveraging digital technologies can bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experiences, fostering a generation of critical thinkers, problem solvers and innovators.
