As TikTok’s future in the United States remains uncertain, the tech giant has discreetly begun testing a new platform called “TikTok for Artists,” aimed at helping artists advance their careers, according to a confirmation from the company to TechCrunch. This platform will offer artists tools to promote their music, analyze performance metrics, and engage with their fanbase.
Currently, the platform is undergoing tests in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea, and Indonesia, with plans for future expansion into additional markets.
The initial report about the platform came from Music Ally.
According to the TikTok for Artists website, artists can utilize this platform to create promotional campaigns for upcoming releases and share them on the social network. They will have the ability to launch engagement and monetization initiatives, such as album campaigns to encourage pre-saves on Spotify and Apple Music or exclusive merchandise drops.

Artists will also gain access to performance data to assess the success of their posts and songs, along with insights into their fan demographics, including the countries where their listeners are based.
Additionally, artists can showcase fan videos and foster their community through the platform. Selected fan videos will be featured in a “Music Tab Fan Spotlight” section on the artist’s profile.
TikTok intends to provide more information about the platform in the upcoming weeks.
This initiative is significant as it plays a crucial role in shaping music trends and viral hits, making it logical for TikTok to create a dedicated space that enhances artists’ promotional efforts and boosts fan interaction. The platform could also assist artists in broadening their reach and growing their audiences.
Notably, this launch follows ByteDance’s decision to discontinue TikTok Music, a music-streaming service previously tested in several countries. The company stated that it chose to retire the service to “focus on our goal of enhancing TikTok’s role in promoting greater music listening and value on music streaming services.”
