The Ghana National Premix Fuel Secretariat (NPFS) says fisherfolks in the country should expect a surge in the supply of premix fuel in the coming weeks.
Administrator of the Secretariat, Nana Abrokwa Asare in an exclusive interview with ATL FM NEWS stated that the measures were put in place to alleviate the situation and thus the reason for the surge in the coming weeks.
In an earlier notice dated 10th March 2022, the Secretariat announced that a possible shortage of premix fuel may occur and according to them, ‘this is due to a challenge with Bulk Oil Distribution Companies’ which they said can be attributed to the Russia crisis.
However, Nana Asare says the secretariat has spoken to the Bulk Oil Distribution Companies (BDCs), and also what the secretariat was tasked to do has been done.
“We have also followed through all that we need to do, the Ministry of Finance has also released money to the BDCs and as it stands now all the problems associated with the supply of premix fuel in the country have been resolved,” he said.
He, therefore, encouraged all stakeholders to remain calm adding that in the coming weeks, all the landing beaches with premix fuel shortage problems will get enough fuel for their fishing expeditions.
