For the first time since his accident on Sunday, March 17, musician Kuami Eugene has given an update on his condition.
On Friday, March 28, the musician thanked God, his family, and the University of Ghana Medical Center personnel for their wonderful care in a message on his Instagram page.
Along with thanking his supporters and the public for their prayers since the event, Kuami Eugene reassured everyone that he is doing fine.
“I want to say thank you to God, My family, the staff of UGMC and all of you for your prayers, your positive thoughts and your acts of kindness. The support and love that I received have been breathtaking and beyond my expectations,” the post read.
He also included a photo of himself in the hospital with the message. He appeared to have a fractured hand because he was seen with a cast.
Nevertheless, he was observed using the equipment in the room while creating music from his hospital bed.
Kuami Eugene was a participant in the collision that happened at CP, near the DSTV headquarters, heading toward the Accra traffic light at Dzorwulu.
Around 11:30 p.m., Emmanuel Ajarfor Abugri, the Editor of the Modern Ghana news portal, who saw the collision, claims to have been directly behind the musician’s vehicle.

He clarified that when the musician crashed into the tipper truck from behind, it was moving, although slowly.
He thinks the collision happened because there were not enough street lights on the N1 highway, making it dark, and the tipper truck’s absence of a tail light made visibility worse.
He thinks that if Kuami Eugene had been irresponsible and had been speeding, the collision would have been deadly.
