Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang says she is overwhelmed by the massive endorsement she has received from Ghanaians after her confirmation as running mate for Mr John Dramani Mahama.
In her acceptance letter shortly after her confirmation, the first female Vice Chancellor in Ghana said she is humbled particularly by the support she has received from the “founder of the party Jerry John Rawlings, the Council of Elders of the NDC, the National Executive Council and the general public.”
Prof Opoku-Agyemang indicated that her “historic nomination is not a personal achievement but victory for inclusive and participatory democracy, which enhances the credentials of our country and recognises the towering role women have played over the ages to achieve the progress we have made”

She noted that she has learnt from her working relationship with former President John Dramani Mahama that “he is a man of vision, a leader you can trust, a public servant of integrity and a courageous leader who makes the right decisions in the interest of the nation at all times”
Prof Opoku-Agyemang said she is going to diligently apply herself and dedicate the energy and intellect she can muster to ensure a resounding victory for the NDC in the December 7 polls.
