The Technical Education Development for Modernizing Agriculture in Ghana, University of Missouri Assistance Programme (TEDMAG-UMAP) has donated fifteen agriculture teaching and learning books to the Centre of Teacher and Professional Development, University of Cape Coast (UCC).
The books are expected to be used for improvement of teaching and learning and for increased and improved agricultural training and delivery.
Speaking at a short ceremony to present the books, the Director for TEDMAG-UMAP, Mr. Mawuli Asigbee indicated that the donation is born out of the collaboration TEDMAG has with the Centre of Teacher and Professional Development in conducting training for College tutors.
“TEDMAG project has been collaborating with the University Centre for Teacher Professional Development in helping to improve the training for college tutors”.

“TEDMAG programme is designed to address three major things. The first part is to improve the curriculum that is being used to train extension officers through the colleges so that by the time they come out to conduct their services in the communities they have more improved skills. The book donation is part of supporting the curriculum and also the level of training for extension officers by building the capacity of the tutors in communication and pedagogies,” he remarked.
Receiving the item on behalf of the Centre for Teacher and Professional Development, Provost of the Centre for education Studies, UCC, Prof. Ernest Kofi Davis commended TEDMAG for their continuous support and promised that the books will be put to good use.
Expressing his appreciation he stated, “We wish to express our sincere gratitude to the TEDMAG Project. We will want to assure you that we will put the books into good use. We will ensure that they are used to support the training of quality teachers who will deliver in ways that will improve the quality of human resource in this country. We are ready to take the collaboration we have with you to a new level.”
He added that the books will be kept in the College Library so that all students reading education related programmes can have access to it
