Police have shot and killed one individual accused of being involved in the Takoradi market circle robbery.
One additional individual was apprehended during operation on Wednesday evening.
A team of officers from the Western Regional Criminal Investigations Department and SWAT officers from the Accra Regional command performed the task.
The suspects were apprehended at Elmina, along the Cape Coast-Takoradi route, according to a police communiqué.
In an effort to apprehend the perpetrators, a shooting followed, after which one of the suspects, known as Shankiki, was shot and killed, while two others escaped on a motorcycle.
Police retrieved a blue motorcycle from the site of the operation.
Police then discovered the suspects’ hiding place and launched a sweep.

One live and one spent AK-47 cartridge, as well as a live tortoise and a talisman, were retrieved.
A suspect, Inusah Fuseini, 25, was detained for questioning when he was at the hideout.
The alleged robber’s corpse has been transported to the morgue of the police hospital for storage and autopsy.
Police claim they are making moves to apprehend those on the lam for questioning.
Charles Kwakye Agyako, 61, died in the robbery on April 12 after being shot in the chest by robbers on motorcycles while withdrawing money from a branch.
The Western Regional Police Command had promised a GHS10,000 reward for knowledge leading to the arrest and conviction of the robbers.
