On October 15th, the renowned Ghanaian Gospel Music Group, Tagoe Sisters, celebrated their remarkable four-decade(40 years) journey in the music industry with some captivating performances from them and other musicians at a concert held at the Accra International Conference Centre.
During the “Tagoe Sisters at 40 concert” this milestone event showcased the group’s enduring legacy and their significant contributions to the world of gospel music.

Lydia Dedei Yawson, formerly known as Lydia Tagoe, and Elizabeth Kokoi Tagoe, formed one of the most formidable gospel bands in the country.

The celebrated twins within the gospel music realm, embarked on their illustrious musical journey in 1983 and since then they have remained a colossus in the gospel music industry in Ghana.
Since the Tagoe Sisters began their singing in the gospel industry, they have never looked back ,and continue to share their experiences with people all over the world who have been positively influenced by their music in different ways .
During the 40th Anniversary Concert of the Tagoe Sisters, the Accra International Conference Centre was overflown with enthusiastic fans, both from within and beyond the borders of Ghana.

The audience were taken on a musical journey ,”Orekyekye”, “Yedi Nkunim” and “Etu be twa” . New songs were also sung by the Tagoe Sisters to mark their 4 decades celebration. Performers like Ceccy Twum, Nacee, Lola X Lali, and Ophelia Nyantakyi added to the excitement of the concert .
The concert was a star studded show that also saw performances from secular musicians such as Kuami Eugene, Legendary Pat Thomas, Kwabena Kwabena, Akwaboah Jnr and a host of other musicians doing their own renditions of some of the hit songs of the gospel duo.
The 40th Celebration of the Tagoe Sisters in Accra marked a joyful tribute to their unwavering commitment and tenacity in their musical journey. The legendary duo is set to continue their celebratory tour, making their way to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, where they will host a fundraising dinner on October 23rd, 2023.
