The Supreme Court has adjourned its sitting on the anti-LGBT cases presented before it to December 18th, 2024.
The cases are suits filed by Amanda Odoi and Richard Dela Sky against the passing of the anti-LGBT bill into law.
The apex court will deliver its judgement on the Amanda Odoi suit against the Speaker of Parliament on December 18.
The court will in its judgement, answer the questions of the legality of the anti-LGBT bill, determining if the President can assent to the bill or otherwise.
However, in the Richard Dela Sky suit, the Court will resume hearing on the 18th of December.
Mr. Sky’s legal team’s request to amend its motion was granted, and the court ordered that the amended motion be filed by November 22, 2024.
Additionally, the Court asked lawyers for the Speaker of Parliament and the Attorney-General to file their responses to the plaintiff’s amended statement of defence by November 27, 2024.
