Joseph Nkrumah Buabeng, better known as Nero X in the entertainment industry, is a highlife phenomenon. He stated that supporting a political candidate shouldn’t be punished by having his music career destroyed.
With the famous song “Mahama for 2024,” the “Yawa Dey” hitmaker has chosen to support National Democratic Congress contender John Dramani Mahama.
Though Nero X disagrees, many Ghanaians believe that being a political party member is a surefire way to end your career.
Speaking on Saturday on Akoma FM in Kumasi with award-winning entertainment host Tony Best, Nero said: “Daddy Lumba is living his best life despite having previously rallied and campaigned for the NPP. The same is true of Mr. Beautiful, who is also doing well after having previously campaigned for the NDC and Mahama.

“Everything we do in life is politics, our choices are politics hence I see no reason people should be maligned and abused for making a political choice. As far I am concerned my song and support for John Mahama is because I perceive him to be the right person to rescue the country and it has nothing to do with my career in future”.
As the general elections of 2024 approach, Nero X has dropped a campaign song for flagbearer John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
On June 19, Nero X’s channel posted the music video and song “Mahama for 2024” for the first time on YouTube.
The three-minute, eleven-second song praises Mahama for his presidential aspirations for national development.
The song’s lyrics pleaded with all Ghanaians to back John Mahama so that the NDC could retake power and deal with the country’s issues.
Mahama is portrayed as the “savior” who can resolve the issues caused by the present NPP-led government.
