The Ghanaian dancehall artist Stonebwoy has filed a lawsuit against Baba Sadiq, an entertainment critic and politician.
The lawsuit was brought by the artist in response to remarks made on Sadiq’s former Twitter account, X.
The current Ghanaian Artist of the Year, Stonebwoy, filed a lawsuit against Baba Sadiq, claiming the aspiring politician posted disparaging tweets on his X page, for which he should receive an apology and GH₵3 million in damages.
The musician claimed in a May 31 writ that Baba Sadiq had intentionally and maliciously spread false information about Stonebwoy in order to damage the artist’s reputation.

The suit claims that the fact that the tweets implied that Stonebwoy was violent towards women raised red flags among the artist’s supporters, who felt that the remarks warranted a legal response. Stonebwoy filed the lawsuit as expected, given the concerns voiced by social media commentators about Baba Sadiq’s claims of female abuse in his tweets.
