A warning has been issued by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to senior high school principals who charge first-year students unauthorized fees.
Because the behavior is prohibited and will not be condoned, it was stated that such heads would face sanctions.
The prospectus for new students contains items that have not been approved, and parents have complained about unapproved costs imposed by school officials.
Journalists in Accra were informed by Cassandra Twum Ampofo, Chief of Public Affairs of the Ghana Education Service, that school administrators who violate rules will face harsh disciplinary action.

“We are cautioning the heads who are going contrary to what we have discussed. We’ve realized that some were adding A4 sheets, mosquito coils and all of that in the prospectus. For us, that was really worrying, so we had to caution them to let them know that, that wasn’t what we agreed on.”
