Sterling Does Well, But a Mistake Costs Arsenal

Raheem Sterling, who’s on loan from Chelsea, played great, getting two assists. But he messed up at the end, getting a yellow card when time was almost up. Sterling Shines But Error Costs Arsenal.

Oleksandr Zinchenko and Declan Rice scored, which helped Arsenal get into the Champions League quarter-finals. They tied 2-2 with PSV Eindhoven, but since they had won 9-3 overall, they moved on without any problems.

Arsenal Starts Strong, Zinchenko Scores Early

PSV had almost no chance after losing badly, 7-1, in the first game. Arsenal started playing hard right away, and Zinchenko scored just six minutes in. He shot the ball with his left foot, getting it past the defenders and the goalie, Walter Benitez. That set the tone. Sterling Shines But Error Costs Arsenal.

PSV Answers Back, But Rice Puts Arsenal Ahead Again

But PSV didn’t give up. Ivan Perisic scored and tied the game in the 18th minute. Guus Til passed the ball to Perisic, who shot it into the top corner. It was the first time another team had scored against Arsenal at home in the Champions League this season.

Even though that happened, Arsenal got the lead again before halftime. Sterling sent a perfect pass into the box, and Rice jumped up and headed the ball past Benitez, making the score 2-1. Sterling Shines But Error Costs Arsenal.

PSV Keeps Trying, Driouech Scores

PSV kept trying to tie the game again in the second half. Sterling, who’s on loan from Chelsea, almost made Arsenal’s lead bigger, but Benitez blocked his shot. Then, PSV started playing better, and Isaac Babadi made David Raya have to dive to save a shot.

Finally, they scored when Babadi sent a great pass to Couhaib Driouech, who kicked the ball over Raya, tying the score at 2-2 with 20 minutes left. Sterling Shines But Error Costs Arsenal.

Arsenal Holds On, But Sterling’s Card Is a Problem

Both teams tried to score and win, but neither one could. Riccardo Calafiori, who came in off the bench for Arsenal, almost scored, but Benitez saved it. Sterling also had a good chance at the end, but the PSV goalie stopped him again.

Sterling played really well for most of the game, but then he got a yellow card in the 93rd minute. Because of that, he can’t play in the first quarter-final game.

Arsenal Goes to the Quarter-Finals

Even though they tied, Arsenal is moving on to the next round. They’ve made it to the last eight two years in a row now, which is something they hadn’t done since 2010. The coach, Mikel Arteta, switched up the team a lot, using seven different players than in the last game against Manchester United. PSV’s coach, Peter Bosz, also made some changes, using five different players.

Even though Arsenal didn’t win this game, they had won the first game by so much that they were still able to move on easily. Now, they’re going to focus on the quarter-finals. But they won’t have Sterling for the first of those games because he got that card.
