Spurs Thrive While Manchester United Struggle Ahead
The 2024-25 Premier League season has just wrapped up, but football fans and pundits are already turning their attention to what’s next. In a league as wild and unpredictable as England’s top flight, it’s never too early to make bold predictions even if recent history has made plenty of experts look silly. (Just ask the ones who thought Leicester would be relegated before their fairytale title win in 2015-16.) Last season saw plenty of drama. Liverpool stormed to the title, Arsenal came close but were runners-up for the third straight year, and both Manchester United and Tottenham had seasons they’d rather forget statistically, their worst in the Premier League era. Still, as odd as it sounds, Spurs may be in a better spot than United going forward.

Arsenal’s Big Chance to Finally Win It All
Football pundit Julien Laurens believes Arsenal are finally ready to shake off their nearly-men status. After three consecutive second-place finishes, he boldly predicted on The Optus Sport Football Podcast that the Gunners will lift the trophy next season. He acknowledged the strong competition, especially from Liverpool who’ve already snapped up Jeremie Frimpong and are being linked with stars like Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez and a Manchester City side expected to spend big. But Laurens still believes Arsenal will edge it, saying, “I want it to be Arsenal’s season.”
A Bold Call for Spurs’ Comeback
While Tottenham’s domestic form was dreadful, their Europa League win gave fans a bit of hope. Football analyst Phil Kitromilides thinks that might be the start of something better. He boldly predicted that Spurs who finished 17th last season will make a massive leap and qualify for the Champions League. “That’s a pretty bold prediction, but let’s do it!” he said, whether Ange Postecoglou stays as manager or not.
More Trouble Brewing for Manchester United
Things look much bleaker at Old Trafford. Mark Schwarzer, the former Chelsea and Australia keeper, isn’t holding back. He predicts that United won’t be playing in any European competition again next season. The club is facing a mountain of issues financial strain, the likelihood of selling star player Bruno Fernandes, and the fallout of missing out on Champions League money. Manager Ruben Amorim will be under pressure, and fans may have to brace for another rough ride.
