The Government of the Republic of South Africa has added Ghana to its E-Visa list to enable Ghanaians to apply for visas to South Africa online.
This means Ghanaian nationals who wish to travel to South Africa will not need to visit the South African High Commission – Ghana.
However, passport details, a letter of invitation/proof of accommodation and a bank statement which are the normal requirements for travel would be verified on arrival at the point of entry.
This was contained in a statement the High Commission of South Africa issued on 28 September 2023.
The commission urged Ghanaians to visit the portal of the Department of Home Affairs of the Republic of South Africa for further information.
