Following a tweet on his social media profile featuring Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, late reggae legend and Jamaican musician Bob Marley has been the buzz of Twitter.
Bob Marley and the Wailers’ famous song “Stir It Up” was released in 1978.
Though the reggae legend is late, Sarkodie has landed an international collaboration with the group to release a new version of the song.
In the group’s post on the micro-blogging site, they said “New version of Stir It Up coming Friday ft. Ghanaian artist Sarkodie”.
The song is scheduled to be released today, January 20, 2023.
Prior to the announcement, the Ghanaian rapper expressed his thanks for being a part of the new musical rendition.
“Finally, we get to share with the world. Definitely, my biggest highlight in my music journey. Big honour. Friday we enjoy this, more stories to share.
Sarkodie described the opportunity to perform alongside the reggae legend’s original song as a blessing.
“One of the highest moments in my career/life. Such a blessing to lay my vocals right next to the original vocals of the legend”, he said.
Users on social media have subsequently applauded Sarkodie for his powerful verse on the song.
Others have praised him for landing a terrific duet with one of music’s greatest icons.
