Ghanaian artiste, Sista Afia has called out certain female musicians for not reciprocating kind gestures.
In an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, she expressed her frustration with female artistes who take advantage of her but fail to support her music.
“Don’t ever do shows and call me. They know themselves,” she stated.
Beyond this, Sista Afia also highlighted the lack of appreciation for female musicians in Ghana.
“I mean, I’ll speak for myself, I can’t speak for everyone, but I’ll speak for myself. I see that I work tirelessly; I work more than everyone, especially Adey grind waaa, and I need this thing. I’m somebody that needs it; it’s like without music, there’s no Sista Afia. And when it comes to hardworking female artistes, not like I’m blowing my own horns, but it’s facts, it’s there. I’ve had shows; where haven’t I been? It’s just that people have not paid attention.”

She further emphasized her dedication to her craft, saying, “I don’t sleep; I sleep like 3 hours and almost 4 hours, then I’m back to business. I hardly sleep. Right now, I feel like it’s time to talk. It’s so sad that people don’t really see the work you put, and that hurts me,” she told DJ Slim.
Now focused on rebranding and improving her publicity, Sista Afia acknowledged how the industry has shaped her and expressed her willingness to learn and grow to strengthen her brand.

Sista Afia has been involved in several feuds within the Ghanaian music industry, notably with some female rappers, singers, and media personalities. Her highly publicized beef with Eno Barony and Freda Rhymz in 2020 saw the exchange of diss tracks, with Sista Afia dropping WMT and You Got Nerves, which sparked heated lyrical battles.
The feud, which started as a rivalry over lyrical dominance, escalated to social media spats and nearly turned physical. Additionally, she had a heated exchange with actress and socialite Efia Odo, with both trading insults on social media over personal and industry-related issues.
Despite these conflicts, Sista Afia later expressed that such beefs are part of the industry’s competitive nature, emphasizing her respect for her colleagues while maintaining her stance as one of Ghana’s top female musicians.
She is currently promoting her latest song, Krekete Soja, featuring Amerado.
