Shatta Wale, a dancehall musician, has stated that he will only take part in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards program if the organizers take the initiative first.
He asserts that the board has to adopt “a nicer approach” so that negotiations may take place and mutually acceptable arrangements can be reached, enabling him to join the show.
In an interview on Hitz FM’s U Say Wetin show, Shatta Wale said “VGMA is my ex-girlfriend, anytime they want to come back I am here. I feel because they are the ones organizing this and there should be a nice approach.”
The ‘On God’ hitmaker detailing the terms told Hitz FM’s Prince Tsegah that, “they should also find someone from the office to come and invite me to come on board and it will be beautiful.”

When asked if he is extending an invitation to organisers he answered, “we should take this like that…we have to understand that united we stand divided we fall.”
He continued, “I don’t have VGMA at heart and I don’t have any enemy there. It’s just that things happen and we move on.”
As you may remember, the VGMA kicked Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy from the event in 2019 after a brawl that ruined the show’s 20th anniversary.
However, the prohibition was repealed in 2021, and Stonebwoy has been a part of the program since 2022. But, Shatta Wale has not yet joined the plan.
Meanwhile, Charter House, organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), has released the full list of the VGMA 24 nominees of the various categories.
On March 18, 2023, the award scheme’s organizers released the categories on their various social media channels.
The award ceremony is set to take place at the Grand Arena of the Accra international conference center on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
