Manager of Shatta Wale and the Shatta Movement, Samuel Atuobi Baah, popularly referred to as Sammy Flex has indicated that the movement is committed to promoting inclusivity assuring them his outfit never meant to ridicule GSPD members.
These comments came in the wake of concerns raised by the Ghana Society of Physically Disabled (GSPD), who wrote a letter to caution Shatta Wale and to register their displeasure with some alleged derogatory comments Shatta Wale made against Stonebwoy.
A letter addressed to the GSPD, signed by Shatta Wale’s manager Sammy Flex, indicated that the ‘Kakai’ hitmaker had no intention of making fun of or belittling persons with disability.

Sammy Flex highlighted that his artiste aimed solely to emphasize the importance of Stonebwoy displaying respect towards others and upholding appropriate behavior.
“We understand that the wording of the statement may have been insensitive and we acknowledge the concerns raised. It was not our intention to cause any harm, and we value and respect the contributions and rights of individuals with disabilities in our society,” he wrote.
He also mentioned that the Shatta Movement would also be mindful in future so as not to hurt anyone since that was not the intention of the “Ayoo” crooner.
“…we will strive to be more mindful of our words and actions in the future. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding,”
In a video, Shatta Wale said among other negative statements, referring to Stonebwoy, “You are a bad person that is why God made you a disabled person, you are a disabled person don’t try and fight an able person”.
GSPD upon chancing on the video thus called on Shatta Wale to apologise to the community and take measures to remove the offensive videos from social media platforms.
