One of the biggest pop cultural events of the year was unquestionably “Book of HOV,” a public exhibition that chronicled Jay-Z’s musical heritage and was organized by the artist, his imprint Roc-Nation, and the Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) in July of this year.

I was aware that Sarkodie was the only Ghanaian musician who could possibly match the success of the American superstar!

Being one of the most decorated acts of all time, critically acclaimed, long-lasting, consistent, dominating, and influential, it was only right and magnificent for Sarkodie’s nearly two-decade-long musical legacy to be on exhibit.

Furthermore, the Jay-Z-BPL model is the best option in a nation and sector lacking both a “Walk of Fame” concept and specialized museums for the creative industries.

Proven Career

Sarkodie began performing in 2005 and released her first album in 2009. Her career has been incredibly successful, and her current list of accomplishments is enough for celebration.

Sarkodie’s durability and capacity to remain powerful, relevant, and “hungry” is no small feat in an industry where new “Kings” are established quickly and “old” luminaries are retired early. It deserves more promotion.

It is important for the general public to receive a glimpse of such a remarkable legacy, including the projects, numerous honors, sold-out performances, charitable endeavors, important partnerships, and everything else that has characterized the musician’s career to date.

Strong Collaboration

One of the best theatrical productions of the year was presented by Image Bureau, Aprils Communication, in collaboration with National Theatre last week. This time, Eagle Plug and Mix Design Hub—two companies who organized the first-ever “Rapperholic Exhibition”—have partnered with Sarkodie’s Sarkcess label.

Eagle Plug and Mix Design Hub first selected the appropriate artist, one with too many accolades and credits to list, obviously taking inspiration from the “Book of HOV” exhibition. Additionally, they planned it perfectly—just days before one of Ghana’s largest performances, the 10th anniversary of the “Rapperholic Concert,” with the fitting title of “Rapperholic: The Rebirth.”

The Mix Design Hub in Osu is hosting an exhibition that is only open for five days, which is understandable given that this is arguably the first time something of this nature has been done in modern times and that there is also the problem of space.

With any luck, this outstanding display would receive enough support to warrant an expansion or, more likely, a move to a larger, more spacious location.

Outstanding Company

The exhibition has been expertly assembled to reflect the artist’s personality, and “SarkNatives'” enthusiasm and dedication to seeing it through to completion are admirable.

First, a number of well-known individuals, including business titans, revered actress Nadia Buari, Drs. Osei Kwame and Ofori Sarpong, and a host of others, attended a private session. Interestingly, the artist’s husband and children attended the event as well.

The exhibition will end on December 16, 2023!

Excellent Work

Many Ghanaian artists who have labored, broken new ground, and solidified their legacies need an appropriate platform to be shown to the global audience.

Sarkodie and his partners were inspired, so they ran with the idea and saw it through to completion. It’s easy for others to copy the move!

It is not always appropriate for creatives to wait for the government to take action. In this field, anything is fixable with the correct alliance, tools, and assistance.

The largest venues in the world, which hold important entertainment events, are privately owned rather than owned by the government.

The largest venues in the world, which hold important entertainment events, are privately owned rather than owned by the government.

These artists, in addition to private organizations and successful business moguls, can take advantage of the friendly environment that the government has created and make audacious moves toward completing certain projects and objectives.

To make this work, Sarkodie, Eagle Plug, and Mix Design didn’t need to wait for any government assistance. Take action now!
