Sarkodie, an award-winning rapper, says he has gotten an outpouring of love and support from industry figures since the release of his collaboration with Bob Marley.
Shatta Wale, an industry colleague, commented in a cynical tone that Sarkodie should be praised for being featured by a ghost on the song “Stir It Up.”
Shatta Wale mocked the production and downplayed the relevance of Sarkodie being featured on a Bob Marley classic during an interview on Luv FM’s Drive Time.
” don’t think it should be a problem. As we hear, Sarkodie has featured Bob Marley, it’s so beautiful, at least we have someone who has featured a ghost, we should praise him.”

However, in response to a question from a fan on Twitter Spaces, Sarkodie stated that he feels everyone in the entertainment business is overjoyed with the achievement.
“I haven’t checked social media that much but I think everybody is happy for what has happened, unless I’m proven wrong,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sarkodie has admitted that he almost turned down the chance to collaborate on the Bob Marley classic.
The song was released on all streaming media platforms on Friday, January 20, 2023.
In an interview with the +44 Podcast, the Ghanaian artiste stated that he did not believe he was worthy of having his voice on the same tune as the iconic Reggae icon’s.
“When I had the email, I almost passed it on and not just out of respect, I felt that I was not worthy to lay my vocals next to the legend. I was really hard on myself,” he told Sideman, host of the podcast.
