On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, music lovers were ecstatic to see Highlife singer Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jr.’s “LightHouse” album listening party get underway at the Soho Bar in Airport, Accra.
A spotlight came on as the evening’s MC, Kofi Okyere Darko, often known as KOD, presented Akwaboah. The multi-award winning highlife artist then appeared on stage wearing a stunning white outfit.

Applause and cheers from the crowd erupted, flooding the venue with a wave of affection and gratitude.
Akwaboah had a live band performance. His poignant songs and masterful lyrical writing produced a happy musical environment.
Every song on the “LightHouse” CD flowed like a work of art, demonstrating his flexibility and skill.
The audience joined in the swaying and singing, their voices harmonizing with Akwaboah’s to produce a symphony of admiration and shared emotion.
The anticipation grew as the night went on. The audience was curious as to who else will collaborate with the former Sarkcess Music signee.
And then it happened: Ghana’s rap superstar, Sarkodie, soared to prominence. When Sarkodie positioned himself next to Akwaboah, the audience erupted in cheers.
The two musicians, who represented several musical eras in Ghana, stood together because they both had a passion for the genre.
The listening session gained a new dimension and an exhilarating energy from Sarkodie’s appearance that threw the attendees into a frenzy.
His trademark wit and wordplay infusing his rap rhymes complemented Akwaboah’s enchanting melodies to create a musical tapestry that held the audience’s attention.
With a feeling of victory and unity, the “LightHouse” record listening party came to an end, cementing Akwaboah’s standing as one of Ghana’s most renowned musicians.
Every participant that Ghanaweekend spoke with expressed contentment with the way the event was run.
The 11-track “LightHouse” album, which features Strongman, Kwabena Kwabena, and Sarkodie, will be released on November 24, 2023. Some of the music on the album are “Odo Do Me,” “Asikyere,” and “My Darling.”
