Helen Paul, a well-known comedian from Nigeria, has proposed that wives’ bank accounts should receive their earnings directly.
The comedian recently put out the suggestion on Instagram and asked other ladies to weigh in on the matter.
She wrote: “‘I think women’s salaries should be paid directly to their husband’s bank account’.
“My fellow women, what do you think?”
Reactions to her article were divided; some ladies agreed, while others disagreed, taking to the comment area.

Paul gained popularity as a wicked humorous character on Radio Continental 102.3FM, Lagos’ Wetin Dey, a renowned Nigerian radio program. Known as “Tatafo” on the show, she was a clever child who satirically discusses and lampoons society issues.
Paul’s debut album, Welcome Party, was released in July 2012. The album include Afro-Pop songs like “Boju Boju”, “Vernacular”, “Gbedu”, and “God Forbid”. It also includes an Afro RnB song called “Children of the World” and an enlightening song called “Use Calculator” on the threat posed by the HIV-AIDS epidemic. “Take It Back” was one of the singles she later released.
She debuted the music and video for her inspirational song “Never Knew” in 2018, which talks about her formative years and professional development to that point.
The University of Lagos is where she obtained her doctorate in theater arts.
