Speaking to CBS Sport after the match, Saka admitted he had this game circled during his rehab and used it as motivation to return stronger. “This was one of the games I was really preparing myself for, so it was a big motivation for me in my rehab,” he said. “I’m happy I’ve come back for this game, I’ve made my mark.”

Beating Real Madrid on their turf is no small feat, especially with their reputation for dramatic turnarounds in the Champions League. But Saka was proud of Arsenal’s focus and fight. “We saw all the stuff on social media of them saying they were going to come back,” he shared. “So we showed great mentality and felt we were really comfortable from the first minute to the last.” The win was not just a statement, but a signal that Arsenal belongs among Europe’s elite. “We know that we’re respected in Europe, but tonight is another big step and we need to keep making big steps.”
Channeling Henry’s Legacy
Saka also stirred memories of Arsenal’s famous 2006 victory at the Bernabeu, when Thierry Henry scored a memorable solo goal. After his strike, Saka mimicked the Arsenal legend’s iconic shushing celebration, although he insists it wasn’t pre-planned. “I just wanted to have my own moment!” he said. “But of course Thierry has done this here, so it’s nice we can share the same picture.”
