Ghanaian rap legend Sarkodie is largely responsible for the rise in popularity of Safo Newman, a rising musical star best known for the song “Akokoa.”
Unaware of Safo Newman, Sarkodie aggressively pushed Safo’s song Akokoa on social media, telling his fans to take notice of his skill.
The act that garnered Safo Newman a large fan base was one that was difficult for up-and-coming artists to receive significant support from an A-list performer.
The singer of “Akokoa” revealed in a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz that meeting Sarkodie would be a dream come true.
“His duet of my song really added volume to it and I can say that even made it go viral. Just meeting him in person and saying thank you will be enough even if a collaboration does not happen soon. I would really like to meet him in person,” he told Graphic Showbiz.

Now, at last, that dream has come true. Safo Newman and Sarkodie are seen together in a studio in an internet video.
Though it’s unclear at this time if the two are writing music together, Safo Newman appears to be a very content man.
Following the touching interaction, Safo Newman thanked Sarkodie and the Ghanaian people for their everlasting support.
In addition, he honored Fred Kyei Mensah, the renowned sound engineer and music producer, for his services to the music business.
In honor of Valentine’s Day, which is generally celebrated as a day of love, the singer-teacher has also released his most recent tune, Valentine. It’s definitely one for the record books.
