The Rotary clubs, Cape Coast-Central, Sekondi-Takoradi and Takoradi-Anaji have jointly provided a free eye screening for the inhabitants of Moree in the Central Region.
The project which was executed with the assistance of an eye specialist from the St. Francis Xavier Hospital eye clinic screened people with eye problems and provided lens spectacles to those with visual acuity.
Inhabitants of the community were also dewormed and presented with bags of used clothing.
President of the Rotary club of Cape Coast-Central, Reverend Father Stephen Amoa Gyasi told ATLFMNEWS that the gesture is to help improve the wellbeing of the people of Moree who are faced with myriads of problems including health issues.
“We chose Moree because it is a fishing community and most of the fishing communities are deprived and it becomes difficult for them to survive even in a day let alone to go to the hospital”.
The Member of Parliament for Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese constituency, Mr. Elvis Morris Donkoh expressed his thanks to the Rotary clubs and promised to partner them to make the project sustainable.
