The Rotary Clubs of Accra, Accra-Airport, Accra-Airport City, Accra-Sunrise and Cape Coast-Central over the weekend donated pharmaceutical products, medical equipment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) and also handed over a refurbished infirmary to the Ankaful Prison Annex.
The gesture is to assist the Prison render health services efficiently to the incarcerated.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Rotarian Rosalind Awovi Kudoadzi noted that the gesture was made upon an appeal by the Prison Officers to help refurbish the infirmary.
She stated that it is the hope of the club that the wellbeing of the inmates would improve since the facility is equipped with modern equipment and also pleaded for the items to be put to good use.
“It is our hope that when our brothers come in they will be looked after so that at the end of the day their well-being is assured and also if the officers who are looking after them need medical assistance, they will also receive the needed assistance.”

Rotarian Kudoadzi also urged them to ensure good maintenance culture to prolong the lifespan of the items.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Camp, Assistant Director of Prison, Wilson Sallah, the Second in Command of the facility thanked the Rotary Clubs for the support, stating that the intervention of the clubs is an opportunity to better the lives of the inmates at the camp.
