In a joint effort between the Ghana Football Association and the electoral board, Mr. Robert Otieku was elected as the new Chairman of the Central Regional Football Association during the recently concluded elective congress of the Central Regional Football Associations.
The event unfolded on October 6, 2023, at the Church of Christ Ministry in Dunkwa-on-Offin, drawing attendees from across the Central region who came in significant numbers to participate in Mr. Robert Duncan’s uncontested election.
Mr. Ismail Abdul Haye Yartey, who initially stood as Mr. Duncan’s competitor, withdrew from the race a few weeks prior to the election, leaving Mr. Robert as the sole candidate for the position. Consequently, Mr. Duncan secured a resounding victory through popular acclamation, garnering approximately ninety percent of the votes. Following this, he was formally sworn in by Mr. Otoo, the head of the electoral commission, at Dunkwa-on-Offin.
